Jaipur, Apr 15: BJP former President M Venkaiah Naidu today ridiculed "move" by certain Congress and UPA leaders for projection of Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi as Prime Ministerial candidate.

Addressing BJP workers at the dharna site here today, Mr Naidu said some leaders were making hue and cry for projection of Rahul Gandhi as Prime Ministerial candidate but this was unlikely to make difference. "They are saying bring Rahul Gandhi every thing will come in good shape but I am unable to understand what will happen if Rahul Gandhi is brought forward", he said.

"Nothing will happen as Rahul Gandhi like his mother had been a flop figure earlier in Uttar Pradesh and later in Gujarat", Mr Naidu said.

He said both mother and the son had failed in Gujarat.

Congress had lost assembly elections in 10 of the 12 states which had gone to the polls during past four years, he added.

They were even heading for a sure defeat in Karnataka Assembly elections slate for the next month, he said.
