Pete Wentz dismisses Ashlee Simpson pregnancy reports

Washington, April 15 : Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has dismissed tabloid rumours that his fiancee Ashlee Simpson is pregnant, calling it a 'witch hunt' in an email.

After the couple announced their engagement on April 9, a number of US celebrity websites, including OK! and Us Weekly, reported that Ashlee was expecting a baby.

However, Wentz issued a statement denying rumours of impending fatherhood, emailing MTV News to rebut the reports.

"There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood," Contactmusic quoted Wentz, as saying.

"This is all news to me. I can't wait for the story about how I'm really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover.

"I mean really, this is crazy. We're engaged, that's true, and happy about it," he added.

A rep for the couple said the pair is indeed engaged, continuing: "beyond that, there is nothing to add".
