No fake paintings at Lalit Kala Akademi: Soni

New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni today dismissed allegations that valuable paintings in the Lalit Kala Akademi had been replaced by fakes.

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister said the Akademi had authenticated all its paintings and is in the process of proper documentation to arrest any kind of ''possible mischief''.

''The art works in the reserve collection of the National Gallery of Modern Art, are properly warehoused under proper security and controlled environment. The digitisation and cataloguing of these art works is proposed to be initiated during the current financial year,'' she added.
