New NCC Deputy Director General assumes office

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 15: Brigadier T K Murali took over as Deputy Director General, NCC (Kerala and Lakshadweep) Directorate here. Prior to this post, he was commanding a Mountain Brigade along the Indo-China border, a release here said today.

A native of Paravur in Ernakulam district, Brigadier Murali was commissioned in 1977 into the Garhwal Rifles, one of the finest regiments of the Indian Army. An alumnus of King George School, Bangalore, he is a post graduate in defence and strategic studies. During his career spanning over 30 years, Brigadier Murali had participated in various counter insurgency operations in North-East and Jammu and Kashmir.

He commanded an infantry battalion in the Kargil sector and had held a number of prestigious staff appointments at various levels.
