Dhumal launches Atal Bijli Bachat Yojna
Hamirpur, Apr 15 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar today announced the launching of ''Atal Bijli Bachat Yojna'' in the state for which a provision of Rs 80 crore has been made to ensure use of power efficient lighting equipment.
''Under the Yojna, the government would provide CFL bulbs free of cost to the people of the state,'' he said while addressing people on the 61st state-level Himachal Day function at Kanjyan village of the district.
Mr Dhumal vowed to replace old electric equipment in government offices by December 25, this year, which is also former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birthday.
Referring to his government's decision to increase the wages of daily workers from Rs 75 to Rs 100 and enhancement in social security pension from Rs 200 to Rs 300, he said his government was committed for the welfare of the common man.
Besides, leave on Bhaiya Dooj and Raksha Bandhan for women government employees and free travelling facilities on that day were some of the few landmark decisions of this government, he added.
He said Mukhya Mantri Gram Path Yojna has been revived in the state with a provision of Rs 10 crore during this fiscal and added that this would help in connecting all the remaining 460 gram panchayats with motorable roads.
The state government would fill up 26,000 vacant posts, including 18,000 posts in education department, during this financial year alone, he said.
