Brown sugar and charas worth crores recovered in Kashmir
Srinagar Apr 15 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police recovered brown sugar and charas worth crores of rupees in the valley overnight, official sources said today.
They said police at Utrsoo in south Kashmir district of Anantnag laid a trap following a tip off that some people were smuggling charas and brown sugar in the town.
Police arrested two smugglers identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, resident of Seeligam, Lolab Kupwara and Farooq Ahmad Malik, resident of Tangi Mullah Chattergul.
Later, two kg and 750 grams of brown sugar in five packets, worth about three crores in International market, was recovered from them.
Police was informed that some people were trying to brought charas from south Kashmir and were planning to take it to Jammu.
Police arrested three people, including two women and recovered a large quantity of charas, packed in polythene packets, from them.
All the smugglers were arrested, they added.
