6 labourers suffer burnt as factory catches fire
Kanpur, Apr 15 (UNI) Six labourers sustained burns, two of them critically, in a fire that engulfed a refined oil factory in Rania industrial area of Kanpur (Dehat) today.
According to sources, as many as 100 labourers were working inside the factory when the incident happened.
While all of them were taken out safely, six of them sustained burns and were admitted to hospital. Of them, the condition of two was stated to be critical.
The fire could only be put out after fire engines were pressed into service.
In another incident in Damodar area here last night, a fire broke out in a plastic factory.
Property worth several lakhs of rupees was reportedly gutted in both incidents.
