Hyderabad, Apr 14 (UNI) Police are investigating the attack on a Customs official allegedly by security personnel of the new Rajiv Gandhi International airport, based on a complaint lodged with Shamshabad police by the official last night.
The police said a case under section 353 of the IPC was registered against the Chief Security Officer S Sahadevan and others on a complaint lodged by Customs inspector Karthik.
In a counter move, the security guard of the airport, which was run by the GMR Group, Vikramsimha Reddy also complained against the Customs official alleging that he was not cooperating with the security guards and was not in uniform when he entered the airport.
Police said the Customs inspector tried to enter the airport when the private security guards stopped him and asked for his entry pass. Despite the inspector explained that he forgot to bring his pass and showed his identity card, the guards refused to allow him inside.
The guards informed the matter to Sahadevan who picked up an argument with Karthik. The guards and security officer reportedly manhandled the official.
