City to get water on daily basis from May 1

Rajkot, Apr 14 (UNI) Gujarat Union Minister for Health Jay Narayan Vyas said work for Narmada waters supply to Amreli town has been completed and the city would get water on daily basis from May 1 onwards.

The Minister also said, Amreli town would host the Gujarat Foundation Day celebrations which falls on May 1.

Face-lift of the Town has already started as 19 roads being re-constructed and street lights re-started, he pointed out, adding that Garbage weighing 8000 tonnes has already been removed from the city.

All 590 village panchayats of the Amreli district would be online from the day. This is the first district in the region to achieve online connectivity, he added.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Governor Naval Kishore Shamra were exprected to attend the Day's celebrations.

As part of celebrations, cultural programmes would be held in the city, he said.
