Bihar: Armed miscreants shot dead sarpanch
Samastipur, Apr 14: A gang of armed miscreants shot dead a sarpanch (village head) at Kwethar village under Singhia police station in the district.
Police said here today Mahendar Safi, sarpanch of Kwathar Panchayat, was fast asleep when a gang of 10 armed miscreants attacked his house late last night.
The assailants gunned down the Sarpanch, police said, adding that an FIR was lodged in the concerned police station and raids were on to nab the miscreants.
