Sirsa, Apr 13 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today refused all rumours about the state government's disinterest in Ch Devi Lal University, Sirsa and said such rumours were being spread by those wishing to promote their own private institutions.

The Chief Minister was addressing staff and students of the university after laying the foundation stone of a multipurpose hall and inaugurating Indira Awasiya Parisar (residential complex) in the university campus here last evening.

Mr Hooda said this university would be developed as a premiere educational institution of the state and an International Law University and Institutes for Food and Technology, Fashion Technology and Film Making would come up soon. Efforts were already on for getting a defence university, he added.

He said funds were being provided for the expansion of the infrastructure in the university.

While sanctioning Rs 12.85 crore for the construction of the multipurpose hall, he said he was sure that the upcoming teaching block and media centre and water supply schemes would be ready within next six months. Funds would be made available for the library building too, he added.

While reaffirming his government's resolve to make revolutionary changes in the education system in the state, he said without making education system job oriented, it would be impossible to achieve the goal of making Haryana number one state in all spheres of development in the country.
