BSF jawan attempt suicide in Kashmir

Srinagar Apr 13 (UNI) Introduction of Yoga and Art of Living among the security forces engaged in counter insurgency operations in the Kashmir valley to help them out from stress had very little impact as one more Border Security Force (BSF) jawan made an attempt to end his life.

Official sources said Sanjay Nikam, a constable of 68 battalion shot himself with his service weapon at Gulmarg, the famed ski resort in north Kashmir.

He was admitted to hospital in a critical condition.

It was however, not immediately known why Sanjay took this extreme step.

The different security agencies have introduced Yoga and Art of Living to help the personnel of security forces to come out from the mental stress.

However, it had very little impact.In a number of cases, security force jawans killed their colleagues and officers during the past one year.

An Army jawan was given death sentence for killing a Lt Colonel at Harwan in Kashmir.
