Afghan blast victim's family asks govt. to bring back deceased's body soon

Varanasi, Apr 13 : Family of M.P Singh, one of the engineers killed in the Saturday suicide blast in Afghanistan, has urged the Indian authorities to bring back the body at the earliest.

On Saturday, the Indian Government had confirmed the death of two Indian Border Roads Organisation (BRO) engineers in the blast in southwest Afghanistan.

"We have not been able to gather any information about the whereabouts of the body," said Rajendra Pratap, M P Singh's elder brother.

M P Singh is survived by his wife, 14-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son.

A Taliban spokesman has called up a news agency in Afghanistan and said that the militia first detonated two mines and then a suicide bomber blew him up.

Nearly 400 BRO personnel are engaged in construction of a crucial 218-km highway between Zaranj and Delaram in Afghanistan as part of India's assistance programme for reconstruction of the war-torn country.
