11 killed in two road accidents in K'taka
Bangalore, Apr 13 (UNI) Eleven people were killed and ten others injured in two road accidents in Hassan district of Karnataka, today.
Police said six people, including five from the same family, were killed and three others seriously injured when the pick-up truck they were travelling in rammed into a KSRTC bus near Channarayapatna. The bus driver and two passengers were also injured in the accident.
The deceased, hailing from the city, were identified as Anitha (25), Vidya (22), Indrani (25), Jayamma (60), Vinoda (22) and driver Srinivas (25). The seriously injured were admitted to a hospital here.
In the other incident, five people, including two children belonging to Shimoga, were killed instantly and four others injured when a van collided with a stone-laden lorry.
The dead were identified as Ramya (7), Asha (7), Channabasappa (60) and Nanjaiah (70).
