Website hacking can occur in future as well: govt
New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) After the recent hacking of External Affairs Ministry reportedly by Chinese came to light, the government today did not rule out recurrence of such incidents in the future and stressed the need for more caution.
''It is true. It will be true for ever. The important thing is that we must not allow any classified information to get leaked. It is a problem that is going to be there. We have to keep defending ourselves,'' top diplomatic sources said here while confirming the hacking of the MEA website.
Asked whether Chinese were responsible for the hacking, the sources said they would not be so categorical. But some Chinese IP addressed were found.
''I wouldn't be so categorical who did it. But yes, some Chinese IP addresses are there,'' they said.
Asserting that so far no sensitive information had been leaked, the sources said, ''we can easily say that we have a very, very high level of assurance that they (the hackers) had not got any classified information.'' The MEA website was hacked earlier this week. However, there were no reports of any classified information having been leaked out.
