SAMDCOT hails staff separation of IGMC and RPGMC

Shimla, Apr 12 (UNI) State Association of Medical and Dental College Teachers Shimla (SAMDCOT) today welcomed the initiative of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal to separate the cadre of staff of Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla and Dr Rajinder Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda.

"This move will definitely improve the functioning of both the institutions and in further development of super specialties of the state benefiting the people of far flung areas," SAMDCOT General Secretary Manoj Thakur said in a release.

The Association demanded that IGMC should be converted into an autonomous institution, so that aids from the other sources can be raised.

"More than 500 alumni of IGMC are working in abroad and are ready to push money for the development of various specialties at IGMC." UNI XC PS JS1952
