Precious stones seized at NSCBI airport

Kolkata, Apr 12 (UNI) Customs officials at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport have seized precious stones - ruby and sapphire - worth Rs 19 lakh from a garments carrier.

Tarakeswar Gupta, aged 34, a city resident, arrived from Bangkok last night with a huge consignment of garments, sources said.

The presious stones were concealed under the garments. Gupta failed to produce any valid document for importing the valued stones, sources added.
