Peaceful polling in Betul

Bhopal, Apr 12: About 10 per cent of the nearly 11 lakh electorate have exercised their franchise in the first four hours of polling today for the Lok Sabha by-election in Madhya Pradesh's Betul constituency.

Polling amid tight security was progressing peacefully in 1219 polling booths, including 331 identified as sensitive, official sources said.

Polling began on a dull note and 14 per cent of the electorate in Ghodadongri Assembly segment had cast their votes by 1100 hours, while lowest turnout of 7 per cent during the period was reported in Multai area, the sources added.

About 12 per cent polling was reported in Harda, 11 per cent in Timarni and 7.50 per cent in Bhainsdehi.
