Haryana announces Dearness Relief for pensioners
Chandigarh, Apr 12 (UNI) Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh today announced to release an instalment of Dearness Relief (DR) to it pensioners and family pensioners at the rate of six per cent with effect of from January 1.
Mr Birender Singh said that with the grant of this additional instalment, the dearness relief of the pensioners and family pensioners had increased from 41 per cent to 47 per cent and the total liabilities on account of this instalment of DR would be Rs 36 crore during the current financial year, he added.
The Finance Minister said that the financial libilities on this account on state exchequer has been workout and it would be Rs three crore per month. He said that the current liability for 14 months from January 2008 to February 2009 would be of Rs 42 crore.
