By-poll in one polling centre boycotted
Betul, MP, Apr 12 (UNI) Polling for the Lok Sabha by-election in Betul constituency was today boycotted by voters of one polling centre, official sources said.
No voter turned up at the Polling Centre 69 at Khapakhateda village in Amla Assembly segment. A total of 956 electorate are registered under the polling centre.
Villagers boycotted the by-poll to protest ruling by a Multai court sentencing 44 people to life imprisonment in connection with five people of a blacksmith family, including three women, being burned alive by a crowd of people on September 27, 2004, while immersing of idols of Lord Ganesha was going on.
