Two arrested in a murder case in Kashmir
Srinagar Apr 11 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested two persons for murder of a butcher in south Kashmir, a senior police officer said.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Kulgam, Swayam Prakash Pani said a case of murder of a butcher was registered in a police station on February 23.
The butcher Abdul Ahad Malik was attacked with sharp edged weapon and killed.
Later, a special, team headed by SDPO Bashir Ahmad Dar, was formed and investigation taken up during which two persons Arshid Ahmad Bhat and Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh were taken into custody for interrogation.
He said Arshid had also a butcher shop in front of Malik's shop and they developed rivalry.
Mr Pani said Arshid later hatched a plan to eliminate Malik with the help of Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh who is an unemployed.
Arshid had promised Sheikh to give him Rs ten thousand, the SP said.
Later, they attacked Malik with an axe when he was on way to home on February 23. The weapon has been recovered.
