Temple wall dispute snowballs in UP

Varanasi, Apr 11 (UNI) An enraged mob of saints and people, associated with various organisations, today warned of an agressive protest over the breaking of famous Vishwanath temple wall in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

The saints have decided to start a phase-wise agitation into the matter, sources said.

In a meet, the mob kept a demand that 177 idols in the Rani Bhavani and Tarkeshvar temples should be handed over to the people of this city.

Meanwhile, the Vishwanath temple administration claimed that breaking of the temple wall would benefit devotees, as it create a passage with the adjacent Rani Bhavani temple.

From the last few days, renovation work was underway in the temple, sources added.
