Rane targets Mah CM again
Mumbai, Apr 11 (UNI) After the Congress high command denied any move to replace Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, his bete noire and state revenue minister Narayan Rane today once again targetted him.
''Party's leadership is responsible for the defeat of one Congress candidate (Sudhakar Gangane) in the Legislative Council elections,'' said Mr Rane in an informal chat with the reporters here.
Though Mr Rane did not name anybody, he was obliquely referring to the chief minister.
He wondered why the period of the budget session was extended upto April 25.
''Once the appropriation bill is passed, hardly any business remains to be transacted,'' said the former chief minister and wondered what work would be done in next two weeks.
Mr Rane alleged that the Shiv Sena took up petty issues in this session, thereby wasting the time of the legislature and public money.
