PAA resorts to novel agitation for their demands
Puducherry, Apr 11 (UNI) Members of the Puducherry Agriculturists Association (PAA), affiliated to the Communist Party of India (CPI) today resorted to a novel agitation to press their demands.
They took out a procession from the old bus stand to the Legislative Assembly, wearing head-gears. Police stopped them near 'Immaculate Conception Cathedral', where they held a demonstration and dispersed.
They were demanding, among other things, provision of free power supply to the farmers, waiver of pending power tariff and provision of fertiliser subsidy directly to the farmers.
