Khalilabad bypoll: Shoot-at-sight orders against booth capturing
Siddharthnagar, Apr 11 (UNI) To conduct free and fair Khalilabad Lok Sabha bypoll today, shoot-at-sight orders have been issued against booth capturing and rigging.
Sources said the entire parliamentary segment had been divided into ten zones and 87 sectors, while a posse of police garrisoned at all the sensitive areas.
A total of 27 companies of paramilitary force, 212 micro observers and large number of digital cameras were keeping a close vigil at all sensitive and hyper sensitive polling centres.
The borders of Khalilabad parliamentary segment surrounding Basti, Sant Kabirnagar and Siddharthnagar districts of Basti division had already been sealed last evening as part of the excercise to hold free and fair polls.
DIG, Basti range, P V Ramashashtri told UNI that with the sealing, 50 barriers on the border and 30 inside it also started functioning.
He said 21 companies of paramilitary force had already reached here and were being deployed at the polling centres.
Twenty candidates, including 11 Independent, are in the fray.
Total 14,69,654 voters, including 6,71,108 women, would caste their franchise in tomorrow's by-election.
