ISI agent held in AP

Hyderabad, Apr 11 (UNI) The Special Investigation Team (SIT) today arrested a suspect ISI agent, allegedly involved in distributing SIM cards and weapons to terrorists and recovered a weapon from him sent by Harkat-Ul-Jihadi Islami (HUJI) commander Shahed alias Bilal from Bangladesh.

Police said that on a tip-off, SIT arrested Mohammed Faique Aziz, nephew of one of the most wanted terrorist Abu Soofian alias Faratullah Ghori.

The arrested had procured SIM cards by forging the documents of others. Three other terror suspects Khaja, Khader and Shahed were still absconding.

In another case, the accused along with Mohd Shakeel, Abraruddin, Mohd Shafi Rahman and Moutasim Billa who were arrested recently, had procured weapons allegedly for eliminating BJP leaders thereby causing communal disturbance here.

The arrested ISI agent was the aide of HUJI leader Shahed, the suspected mastermind behind the May 18 Mecca Masjid blast and August 25 twin blasts.
