IPS officers seek GoM on sixth pay panel recommendations
New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) The IPS (Central) Association has expressed ''deep anguish'' over the recommendations of the sixth pay commission, and demanded setting up a Group of Ministers (GoM) to examine all grievances pertaining to police forces.
It has also urged the Government not to accept the pay panel recommendations in the present form.
In a resolution, the Association further called for recognising the role of the police in national security and development considering all its intrinsic and extrinsic dimensions.
The other demands listed in the resolution are taking cognisance of sacrifices and hardships undergone by the police, granting rightful dignity to service, initiating congruent process of pay panel recommendations rectification in a transparent and participatory manner, and observing principle of parity in pay, promotion, pension and service conditions with IAS.
