Gram pradhan shot dead in UP

Lucknow, Apr 11 (UNI) Armed assailants shot dead village Bhajpura gram pradhan, following his defeat in an election, in Kanpur dehat area this evening.

Maksood (35) of Shivli colony was shot at by Rajesh Yadav and his accomplices, police said, adding that he died on the spot.

Rajesh was defeated in village election through one vote by Maksood.

A search to nab the accused was underway.
