Five arrested for stealing copper cable
Barrackpore, Apr 11 (UNI) The Railway Protection Force (RPF) took five criminals into custody and recovered a huge quantity of copper cable worth about Rs.40000 that was stolen from the track sides from Titagarh last night.
According to Inspector in-charge of Barrackpore RPF station Md.
Pervez Khan, an RPF team rushed to Titagarh following a tip-off that the miscreants were taking away the cable used for signalling system.
A case has been registered here against the five accused. The RPF, however, suspected that some contractor working for railway might have hands behind the theft.
