ECIL achieves highest turnover of Rs 1,014 cr
Hyderabad, Apr 11 (UNI) Public sector electronics major Electronic Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) here has posted a provisional Rs 160 crore profit in 2007-08 from a turnover of Rs 1,014 crore, the highest business in its 40 years of operations.
The company, which crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark for the second year in succession with a pre-tax profit of Rs 160 crore, had fixed a target of Rs 1,500 crore for the year 2008-09 and had the ''best ever'' opening order book of around Rs 1,000 crore, according to a company release here today.
ECIL continued its contributions to the strategic sectors, Atomic Energy including Nuclear, Defence, Space, Science and Technology, Security and Civil Aviation.
ECIL's supplies in 2007-2008 included Control and Instrumentation equipment for Nuclear and Thermal Power Stations, Communication products and systems to the Ministry of Defence, Antenna Stabilisation Platforms for the Light Combat Aircrat, I and C for 32-M diameter Antenna System for Chandrayaan project of the Department of Space, Encryption, Internet Management Systems and Integrated Security Systems to many crucial installations in the country.
