Codava National Council threaten to boycott K'taka elections
Madikeri, Apr 11(UNI) The Codava National Council, fighting for autonomous status to the hilly Kodagu district, today threatened to boycott the coming Assembly elections as political parties had failed to include its demand for constitutional guarantee for Kodava community.
Speaking to reporters here CNC President N U Nachappa said the CNC had boycotted the elections during 2004 polls and about seven per cent polling was affected due to it.
He regretted that though the CNC was fighting since several years by pressing its demands, nothing seemed to move the politicians.
Hence the Council had decided to again call for the boycott of elections, he said.
