APCC directs frontal organisations to streamline units
Hyderabad, Apr 11 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today directed its frontal and service organisations to streamline the units at the mandal and district-level in the state for effective functioning.
Addressing a press conference here, APCC President D Srinivas, after reviewing the performance of frontal organisations like Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, National Students Union of India, Seva Dal and service organisations such as SC/ST cells and Minority cell, said the frontal organisations were the backbone for the party.
Asking the leaders to organise mandal and district-level programmes and take the developmental activities taken up by the government to the people, he said service to the party and the people was utmost important and the Congress would recognise the services of the party workers who diligently work for it.
He asked the leaders of the frontal organisations to submit monthly reports of their activities to the party office in the districts. Being an election year, leaders and workers should tirelessly work for the party without aspiring for posts and party tickets.
Stating that it was the responsibility of the Seva Dal workers to protect the image of the party, he said leaders of Seva Dal should ensure that at least 200 trained workers were deployed in every district to organise programmes in a systematic way.
Asked about appointment for the nominated posts in the state, the Congress leader said the government would look into the matter and do the needful at an appropriate time.
On Telangana Rastra Samithi President K Chandrasekhara Rao's remarks on ministers and leaders belonging to the Telangana region, he said he did not want to comment.
He claimed that the people of the state had faith on the party and were very happy with the developmental activities taken up by the goverment.
