Truck-SUV collide: 5 killed

Hardoi, Apr 10 (UNI) At least five people were killed and two severely injured after a speeding truck collided head-on with SUV, ferrying them, in Sandila area here today.

The incident was reported from Mehtona village on Hardoi-Lucknow highway, where a truck, laden with cement, dashed against the SUV, injuring seven passengers critically.

Except for two people, therest died on the way to hospital, Police Superintendent Pradeep Chandra said.

The injured were battling for life at a Lucknow hospital.

The deceased, identified as Rita (32), Anil Kumar Singh (35), Ramendra Singh (70), Babbu Singh (70) and Bhanu Pratap Singh (27), were said to be of same family and taking Bhanu for treatment in Lucknow.

The Bodies had been sent for autopsy.
