Sub-registrar arrested by CBI

Puducherry, Apr 10 (UNI) The CBI today arrested sub-registrar, Villianur here on charges of accepting bribes.

According to police, the accused Gurupadam sought Rs.16,000 from one Ramesh of Kanwaipet and Pannerselvam of Villianur Thattanchavady.

The two had agreed to pay Rs 5000. But they informed CBI officals at Chennai and handed over Rs.5000 to Gurupadam.

The CBI team lead by inspector Ananthakrishnan caught Gurupadam red handed while accepting the cash and arrested him.
