SC urged to get back other Lahore consipiracies' files

Jalandhar, Apr 10 (UNI) Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee has petitioned the Supreme Court to request Chief Justice of Pakistan to send the case files of nearly 10 cases related to Lahore consipiracies.

These cases were tried, executed and the judgement pronounced at Lahore during the independence struggle.

''After learning from some sections of the media that Chief Justice of India had written to the Supreme Court of Pakistan to send the record files of the Lahore Conspiracy case of Bhagat Singh, we have also urged the Apex Court to further request its Pakistan counterpart to send back the case files or photostate copies of the 10 noted conspiracy cases, which were tried, executed and judgment pronounced at Lahore (then part of India),'' Committee's General Secretary Nuanihal Singh told mediapersons here today.

He also said the committee has requested to give photographs of 40 convicted persons involved in the conspiracies, which were taken by the jail authorities at the time of their transportation to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The Committee has also enlisted the details of cases related to Ghadar Party movement, in the letter, which were tried and executed on the Indian side of Punjab and elsewhere in the country and outside to get their case files also.

''It would be a great service to the martyrs, freedom fighters, researchers and future historiansin if the case files were handed over to India'', he added.

The Yadgar Committee, is a charitable organisation formed in memory of Gadhar Party martyrs and other revolutionaries, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.

Details pertaining to the cases include, Lahore Conspiracy case (1915), Lahore Supplementry Conspiracy case (Mar 1916), Lahore 2nd Conspiracy case (January 5, 1917), Lahore 3rd Conspiracy case (March 2, 1917), Lahore 4th Conspiracy case (May 26, 1917), Lahore City Conspiracy case (June 11, 1917), Anarkali Murder Case Lahore (February 20,1915), Ist Akali Conspiracy Case (November 8, 1921), Babbar Akali Conspiracy Case 1st Supplementry (May 18, 1922) and Babbar Akali Conspiracy 2nd (November 8, 1921-22).
