NTPC sees 3.85% rise in net profit in FY08
New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) Country's largest power producer NTPC today said it has seen a 3.85 per cent growth in its provisional net profit at Rs 7,129.30 crore in during fiscal 2007-08, as compared to Rs 6,864.70 crore a year ago.
The company's provisional net sales stood at Rs 37,004.60 crore as agains Rs 32,595.20 crore, registering an increase of 13.53 per cent, NTPC CMD T Sankaralingam said at a press conference here.
He said the company has given the highest interim dividend at 27 per cent amounting to Rs 2,226.28 crore during the year.
The market capitalisation of the state-owned NTPC is about Rs 16.21 crore, making it the third largest company as on March 31 this year, Mr Sankaralingam added.
He said the company will spend Rs 13,58,800 crore as capital expenditure in 2008-09.
