MP BJP violating model code of conduct: Congress
Bhopal, Apr 10 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Election Commissioner alleging the violation of the Model Code of Conduct by the ruling BJP during campaigning for the Betul Lok Sabha bypoll.
A delegation led by Congress spokesperson Manak Agrawal today submitted the memorandum stating the state government tried to woo the voters by pasting posters related to 'Jalabhishek' campaign and the Bundelkhand Investors Meet.
In a separate memorandum, Mr Agrawal demanded deployment of central paramilitary forces at sensitive polling centres in Betul constituency so that people could cast their votes without fear. He alleged the government was using money and muscle to lure the voters.
Meanwhile, state BJP President rubbished the charges stating that the Congress was levelling false allegations with imminent defeat in sight. The BJP wanted to maintain decorum in politics and expected the same from the Congress, he said.
