Maoist killed in encounter

Gaya, Apr 10 (UNI) A Maoist was killed in an encounter with police at Sundar Shahi village under Barachatti police station area in Gaya district today.

Acting on a tip-off, Jharkhand police and CRPF raided the village, a border with Bihar, where over 100 extremists of the CPI(Maoists) were holding a meeting.

As the securitymen arrived there, the Maoists opened fire on them and in retaliatory firing one extremist was killed.

A manhunt had been launched in the area to arrest the fleeing ultras.
