Hurdles to AR removal removed: MNF

Aizawl, Apr 10 (UNI) Hurdles to the much-awaited removal of the Assam Rifles from the heart of the city have been removed step by step, the Mizo National Front claimed today.

The MNF statement was based on a sanction order of Rs 145,17,30,000 for construction of non-residential and residential accommodation at Zokhawsanga issued by central police finance director Ranjanesh Sahai to the Director General of Assam Rifles, Shillong.

The Union Home minister handed over a copy of the sanction order dated March 12, 2008, to Chief Minister Zoramthanga in New Delhi recently.

The construction of accommodations at Zokhawsanga will be undertaken by Engineering Projects India Limited in four phases.
