Aamir Khan, Dr Lagoo to receive Master Deenanath special awards

Mumbai, Apr 10 (UNI) Veteran actor Dr Shriram Lagoo and cinestar Aamir Khan will be awarded the Master Deenanath Special Award at a function to be held here on April 24.

The awards will be presented by melody queen Lata Mangeshkar, Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Smriti Pratishthan managing trustee Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar told reporters.

Dr Lagoo has been chosen for the award for his dedicated services to both Indian theatre and cinema and Aamir Khan for his contributions to Indian cinema.

Four other awards will also be presented on the occasion. Malini Rajurkar will receive the award for her contribution to classical music, Mohan Tondwalkar's ''Shambhuraje'' will receive the best drama of the year award, Ulhas Parisar Pratishthan will receive the Anandmayee Award for social services, while Shankar Abhyankar will receive the ''Vagvilasini'' award for literature.
