2 police officers suspended for dereliction of duty

Noida, Apr 10 (UNI) Two police officers were today suspended from service for negligence of duty in connection with the murder of a former airhostess and the shooting of a former army officer on Tuesday evening.

Uttar Pradesh DGP Vikram Singh and Principal Secretary (Home) J N Chamber placed under suspension Station Officer (sector 49) Amandeep Singh and Police Control Room in charge Suresh Babu here.

Mr Singh said one of the accused, Laxman, alias Lachi, who was already out on bail, surrendered in court and would be taken on police remand for questioning.

Sheeba Thomas (24), a former airhostess with an international airline, was shot dead by assailants. In another incident, unidentified men shot at an Lt Gen (retd) T S Gill in an attempt to steal his motorbike.
