Strict measures to ensure peaceful polls: EO
Mysore, Apr 9 (UNI) Seeking cooperation of the political parties and others, Deputy Commissioner P Manivannan, who is also Election Officer, today said that Election code will be implemented strictly to ensure orderly and peaceful election in the District.
Addressing an all party meeting here, he said that since Karnataka is the first state to go to poll after delimitation, the State should become a model to other States in the country.
The important measures which would be in force during the election, among others, includes complete ban on buntings, restructering flex and posters of the candidates, videographing of all activities of candidates except the private one and others, he added.
He said that in case leaders using helicopter for campaigning, the cost incurred would be included in the full expenditure of candidates of the respective political party.
He said sensitive and super sensitive areas have been identified, and central police force will be deployed at the super sensitive areas. At sensitive areas besides CPF, local police along with mobile squads would also be functioning.
