Seven BJYM members arrested for ransacking AMC premises

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Apr 9 (UNI) Seven members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) were arrested today for ransacking the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) premises on Monday, after they realised that the BJP candidate would be defeated in the standing committee chairman's election.

The arrested include Manoj Baraskar, Sameer Rajurkar, Vikas Patil and Kachru Ghodke. The activists ransacked the hall, where the meeting to elect the civic body's new standing committee chairman was taking plcae, breaking chairs, tables and smashing glasses.

BJP candidate Sanjay Joshi was unexpectedly trounced in the election due to the absence of Shiv Sena corporator Purshottam Thakur, and last minute support to Congress nominee M A Sajed by two BRP-Bahujan Mahasangh members -- Kachru Sonwane and K V More.
