Officials raid godowns, goods worth Rs 44,63,000 seized
Nashik, Apr 9 (UNI) The district administration and police personnel conducted a raid in the godowns at Sinnar taluka of the district and seized goods worth Rs 44,63,000.
The raids were carried out on these godowns belonging to five traders for not possessing permits to store foodgrains and pulses.
Goods worth Rs 18,26,000 were seized from Jaiprakash Kalantri's godown, Rs 40,500 from Nakul Maheshwari's godown, Rs 48,500 from Suresh Kalantri, Rs 4,65,000 from Jainarayan Kalantri and Rs 8,28,000 from Saurabh Traders godown yesterday.
All these traders did not have the license to store and supply goods. They did not even maintain the accounts for trading. All of them are traders of Sinnar Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC).
Earlier, Sinnar Tehsildar had served them notices to obtain the permits. But when traders did not obtained the permits, the action was taken against them.
