Modern lab for live stock population in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Apr 9 (UNI) A world class laboratory for conducting research on diseases affecting the livestock will come up soon in Orissa.

Official sources here said the laboratory would be set up at Argul village near Jatni, about 30 km from here. The government had identified 116 acres of land.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) would provide Rs 125 crores for setting up of the laboratory, the foundation stone of which is likely to be laid this month. It might become operational in two years.

As per plans, the laboratory, the first of its kind in entire South East Asia, would also serve as a referral laboratory of the Food and Agriculture Organisation.
