Interstate gang of auto thieves busted, five arrested
New Delhi, Apr 9 (UNI) The Delhi Police have busted an interstate gang of auto thieves with the arrest of five people, including a woman, from Shahdara in East Delhi.
The five people - Manoj, Pawan, Vipin, Raj Bhatia and Varsha Saxena, were arrested from near Shahdara flyover when they were on their way to Ghaziabad to dispose-off a stolen Honda City.
On verification, it was found that the car had been stolen from Sarojini Nagar area.
Interrogation of the five peoples revealed that they have contacts with some resourcesful persons in Assam, who recieved the stolen vehicles.
The accused disclosed that they had stolen about 100 vehicles, mostly Honda City and Scorpio, from different areas of the capital and delivered most of them to the recievers in Assam.
