HC stays vigilance court order against ex-Minister

Kochi, Apr 9 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today stayed the order of the vigilance court, Thiruvananthapuram, to investigate allegations of financial impropriety against former State Finance Minister Vakkom Purushothaman and his relatives.

Mr Justice V Ramkumar admitted the petition filed by Mr Purushothaman, challenging the vigilance court order, and granted the stay.

The complaint before the vigilance court was that Mr Purushothaman and his relatives had amassed wealth illegally and undervalued many transactions, causing a loss of stamp duty to the State.

The vigilance court had directed to conduct an inquiry into the allegations.
