Election Code to ensure peaceful poll in Karnataka: EO
Mysore, Apr 9 (UNI) Seeking cooperation of the political parties and others, Deputy Commissioner P Manivannan, who is also an Election Officer(EO), today said the Election Code would be implemented strictly to ensure orderly and peaceful election in the district in view of the ensuing assembly poll in Karnataka .
Addressing an all-party meeting here, he said since Karnataka is the first state to go to poll after delimitation, the state should set a role model for other states in the country.
The important measures which would be in force during the election, among others, include complete ban on buntings, restructuring flex and posters of the candidates, videographing of all activities of candidates except the private one and others, he added.
Mr Mannivannan said if the leaders use helicopter for campaigning, the cost incurred would be included in the full expenditure of candidates of the respective political party.
He said sensitive and super sensitive areas had been identified, and central police force will be deployed at the super sensitive areas. At sensitive areas, besides CPF, local police along with mobile squads would also function, he added.
