Composite metals, energy, agro-commodities index fall

Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) The composite index of metals, energy and agro-commodities fell by 2701.50 points at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.

Both gold and silver contracts receded. Gold June 08 contract lost 1.11 pc at Rs 11,708 per 10 grams. Silver November 08 contract was down by 1.34 pc at Rs 23,425 per kg.

Copper, zinc, lead contracts suffered a setback while aluminum contracts recovered. Tin April 08 contract shed 1.21 pc at Rs 815 per kg.

Crude oil August 08 contract went down by 1.10 pc at Rs 4,141 per barrel.

Agri contracts were marked by a mixed trend. While chana, cardamom, potato Agra rose marginally, kapaskhali, kapas, turmeric, menthe oil and jute contracts went down.

Cardamom April 08 contract topped the list of gainers with a rise of 2.68 pc at Rs 671 per kg, an MCX release here said.
