Air India manager in Vice Prez team detained at Almaty

New Delhi, Apr 9 (UNI) Custom officials at Almaty airport in Kazakhstan detained a senior Air India manager, who had travelled to the Central Asian country along with Vice President Hamid Ansari, for possessing an undeclared amount of 35,000 dollars.

The Vice President returned here after his official visit to Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

The custom officials said the Air India manager had not declared the amount of 35,000 dollars, which he was carrying besides the money already spent during the trip.

The Indian Embassy officials in Kazakhstan have got in touch with the customs department there to seek his release.
